Brown County Sheriff’s Officers

• Received a theft report of miscellaneous tools and electrical cords on the 29000 block of 270th Street, Prairieville Township at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday. Stolen items were valued at $500. A report went to sheriff’s office investigators.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash in snowy road conditions at State Street and 2nd Street South at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday. A 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee was driven northbound on State Street by John Edward Eichinger, 76, New Ulm, when it collided with a 2020 Honda Civic driven westbound by Alexis Noemi Prieto, 26, New Ulm. Prieto had minor injuries. Damage was severe to the Honda and moderate to the Jeep. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Responded to a call at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday from a business on Westridge Road regarding a possibly intoxicated semi driver, Officers arrested a 59-year-old Nottingham, Md driver and transported him to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office and Brown County Probation.

• Took a report of a New Ulm High School student pushing another student at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday. School surveillance showed a 14-year-old male student shoving a 15-year-old female student. The girl’s parents said they don’t want to pursue charges but want school administration to handle with school sanctions. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report of four tires slashed on a Chevy Silverado parked in the 1300 block of North Jefferson St. at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday. Officers obtained video of a male who appeared to be responsible for the damage, estimated at $2,300. Police placed photos on the police department Facebook page.

• Took a skip-scanning report at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday from Walmart involving a 29-year-old Mapleton man and 26-year-old New Ulm woman. The couple did not scan all their items totaling $111.81 since December. Theft citations were issued to the couple. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

Brown County Sheriff’s Officers

• Arrested a male driver for DWI on the 16000 block, CR 27, Milford Township at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday. No injuries were damage were reported. The driver was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 169, Nicollet County at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Samantha Elizondo, 32, New Ulm, was driving a 2009 Honda Accord northbound, lost control on snow and ice and entered the right ditch. Elizondo was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Mankato with non-life threatening injuries. She wore a seat belt. An airbag deployed. Assisting agencies included North Mankato and Mankato Police, Nicollet and Le Sueur County Sheriff Offices, Mankato Fire Dept. and Mayo Ambulance.
