New Ulm Police
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at Broadway and Center at 7:17 p.m. Thursday. A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven southbound on Broadway by Cole Christopher Alfred, 27, New Ulm, ran a red light and collided with a 2024 Ford Escape driven westbound on Center by Maria Elizabeth Schneeberg, 65, New Ulm. Schneeberg complained of pain but was not transported by ambulance. Damage was disabling to the front driver’s side of the Chevrolet and disabling to the front and driver’s side of the Ford. Both vehicles were towed. Both drivers wore seat belts.
• Responded to a report of an intoxicated 49-year-old New Ulm man in a pickup truck on 19th St. South at 6:19 p.m. Thursday. He was transported to detox. Nobody was hurt, no damage reported. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a report of an intoxicated 35-year-old intoxicated Minneapolis man at 6:59 p.m. Thursday at 5th Street North and State St. The man was transported to detox. No damage or injuries were reported. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a New Ulm Walmart skip-scanning theft report at 8:08 p.m. Thursday. Citations were issued to a 51-year-old New Ulm woman and 28-year-old Sleepy Eye woman for six thefts totaling $110.47 between October 2024 and February 2025. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
Minnesota State Patrol
• Received a one-vehicle crash report at 12:33 p.m. Friday on Highway 111, Granby Township, Nicollet County. Scott Francis Benoit, 59, Franklin, Ar. Was driving a 2022 Kenworth semi northbound when the vehicle flipped over. He was transported to Rivers Edge Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He wore a seat belt. Alcohol was not involved. Assisting agencies included the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Nicollet Fire Dept. and River’s Ridge Ambulance.
