New Ulm Police

• Took a report of two people running in and out of South Broadway traffic at 1:16 p.m. Monday. It appeared a man was chasing a woman who ran into St. Mary’s Church. Officers located a 38-year-old Council Bluffs, Ia. Woman in the church. She had a Le Sueur County warrant for a probation violation. She was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A 43-year-old Mankato man was also located. It was determined no crime occurred and he was allowed to leave.

• Took a report from a 64-year-old New Ulm woman who claimed her cat was abused and not given proper medical care at a local vet clinic. The woman was also concerned that the clinic sent her a letter stating it would no longer care for the cat. Police learned from the clinic that the cat was very aggressive and needed sedation while receiving care. No maltreatment or wrongdoing was found at the vet clinic. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report at 4:50 p.m. Monday of an intoxicated 41-year-old New Ulm man threatening violence at the New Ulm Motel. The man also appeared to be having a mental health crisis. He was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center.

• Took a report of a 34-year-old New Ulm woman who fell victim to a scam Monday. The woman said she owns a New Ulm business and signed a contract with who she thought was a legitimate vendor and was scammed out of $325. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report Sunday of a 31-year-old homeless man who was asked to leave by his mother but refused. The man was issued a trespass notice and left the residence.

• Took a theft report from Walmart of a 20-year-old Gibbon female switching price stickers on three occasions since January 2025. The theft totaled $161.14. The woman was cited for theft. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested and transported a 38-year-old Council Bluffs, Ia. woman to the Brown County Jail on a Le Sueur County warrant at 1:16 p.m. Monday at Broadway and 5th St. S.
