New Ulm Police
• Took a theft report of $587.95 worth of merchandise stolen at Menard’s Saturday. Store employees believe the suspect is a 36-year-old North Mankato man responsible for a $933.86 theft. A report for consideration of theft charges went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
• Took a report of a rock thrown through a window, breaking glass on the 300 block of Front St. S. at 4:41 a.m. Sunday. The homeowners were awakened by the noise of broken glass. Damage was estimated at $650. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a call Sunday from a 30-year-old New Ulm woman who said her bicycle, a 26-inch Beach Cruiser was stolen from outside her apartment. The bike was valued at $54. A report was done for documentation.
• Stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation Sunday. Impairment signs were detected from the driver, a 35-year-old Sleepy Eye man. He was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail for more alcohol testing. He was later transported to detox. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of third-degree DWI, driving without a valid driver’s license, failure to stop at a stop sign and no proof of insurance.
