Minnesota State Patrol
State Patrol responded to a two vehicle accident Friday at 10:43 a.m. on Highway 7 and Babcock Ave. in McLeod County. A 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Lilian Dammann, 83, of Lester Prairie was driving north on Babcock Ave. A 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Darlene Hemond, 80, of Spicer, was heading east on Hwy 7. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Dammann received non life threatening injuries, while Hemond appeared to be uninjuried.
Two people received non-life threatening injuries in a one-car rollover on 651st Avenue in Sibley County. At 1:13 p.m. Ann B. Jutz, 51 of Gibbon was driving northbound in a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she crossed the southbound lane into the ditch. The Jeep launched over a driveway approach, rolled and came to rest upright in the field. She and her passenger, Fred M. Jutz, received non-life threatening injuries. They were assisted by the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, the Gibbon Fire and Rescue and the Winthrop Ambulance.
Watonwan County Sheriff
One man has been arrrested in connection with a road rage incident involving a firearm south of St. James.
On Thursday, Nov. 24 just after 6 p.m. the Watonwan County Sheriff’s office received a report of a man firing a single shot from his vehicle in the direction of another motorist. The incident took place on County Road 27.
At approximately 9 p.m. the suspect was located along with his vehicle and gun at a residence in St. James. A 28-year-old El Paso man has been arrested and is awaiting charges in the Watonwan county jail.
