Steven B. Fluegge

NEW ULM — Steven B. Fluegge, 71 of New Ulm passed away Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 at the New Ulm Medical Center after a three year battle with stage four cancer.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Bernau officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, January 31st, 2020 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel and will continue one hour prior to service at church on Saturday.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Fluegge; children, Missy Fluegge, Danny Fluegge and Brian Fluegge; grandchildren, Maxwell, Mitchell, Connor, James and Layla; his mother, Marie Steinberg; sister, Susan (Rocky) Bernard; brothers, Skip (Jolene) Fluegge and Kevin (Luana) Fluegge.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Fluegge Sr.; Infant brother and grandchildren, Gabriel, Isabel and Noel.
Steven Bruce Fluegge was born November 5, 1948 to Norman Sr. and Marie (Steinberg) Fluegge in New Ulm. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from New Ulm High School and Mankato State University with a degree in business administration. After college he worked various jobs as a salesman and often traveled to the east coast for business. In 1975 he started a gas station with his brother, Skip and friend, Lowell Geisthardt, he owned and operated the business for over 40 years. Steve enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching sports and traveling but above all else he loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to New Ulm Medical Center Foundation Cancer Center and the MVL tuition assistance fund.
