Linda Kathleen (Miller) Bolduan was born Jan. 20, 1949 in New Ulm to Leo and Anna (Schmit) Miller at Loretta Hospital in New Ulm. Linda was the youngest of nine children. She was sibling to Mike, Gerry, Wally, Jim, Lavon, Marcy, Diane, and Sandy (who passed away in infancy). Linda attended school at St. Mary’s elementary and attended Cathedral High School. She was employed as a waitress at Ida’s, Maidrite Café, Dacotah Dining Room, and Jake’s Pizza. She was a CNA at Highland Manor from 1979-1984. Linda then worked with special needs clients at Enterprise North from 1990-2002, and direct care support/SILS counselor from 1984-2015. Linda had a special ability to care for her clients. They were always very fond of her, as she was of them as well. Linda married Ronald Bolduan at St. Mary’s Church in New Ulm on Nov. 5, 1966. They were blessed with three children, Lorilee, Leslie, and Eric.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ron; her daughters, Lori (Chad) Wengert, Leslie Parker; her son, Eric (Audra) Bolduan; 9 grandchildren, Jesse, Jared, Amber, Ashley, Brandon, Remington, Ethan, Jenna and Ayden; 4 great-grandchildren, Alec, Haylie, Adam, and Macy; her sisters, Marcy White, Diane Maidl; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Miller, Cleo Bolduan; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Linda is also survived by her three cats, Nacho, Bubba, and Sadie (who was always by her side). She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, LaVonne; and her brothers, Mike, Wally, Jim, and Gerry.
Linda very much enjoyed fishing for catfish on the river. There are many pictures of her in the Riverside Nature Center with her several 40-plus pound catfish. She liked to meet and give tips to other fishermen on the river. Linda loved to sew anything from patching and mending clothes for her family, to costumes for the kids and grandkids, to making dresses for kids in Africa. She had a strong interest in ancestry and was always asking about relatives, and about who was related to who (sometimes even with strangers she just met). She spent many hours travelling and researching family history and making family history books from both the Miller/Schmit and Bolduan/Clyne sides of the family, and made sure several family members received copies to keep for many years to come. She was always sure to be taking and collecting pictures for her many photo albums. From the ancestor pictures, through the kid and grandkids pictures, it was important to have them all there in the books for the family to cherish. Linda always made sure the kids and grandkids (no matter how old they got) never left without kissing their cheek with an, “I love you sweetheart” (once in a while she switched it up from sweetheart to babe) and those cheek kisses are going to be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Brown County Humane Society, or the donor’s choice.
