Richard “Rich” Andrew Dirksen was born November 15, 1976, in St. James to Roger and Ann (Windhorn) Dirksen. He attended St. James High School and later gained his GED. Rich also attained his degree in auto mechanics from SCTC in Mankato. He was united in marriage to Aimee Wills on November 20, 1999, in New Ulm where together they made their home. Early in his career Rich used his mechanical skills at a number of area shops before becoming a truck driver. Most recently, Rich was employed as a driver for HRI Trucking out of Hanska. When he wasn’t driving truck, Rich enjoyed taking in a good day of fishing with family and friends on Long Lake near Paynesville. As an avid gun enthusiast, he also enjoyed target and trap shooting. He also enjoyed refurbishing antique tobacco pipes and sharing his grilling talents cooking over his smoker grill. What he enjoyed most in life was time he got to spend with his family and friends. Although his passing seems sudden and unexpected to most, cherished memories of good times shared will forever stay in the hearts and minds of those who knew him best. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
