NORTHFIELD–Bonnie Hagen, age 65, of Northfield, Minnesota, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, August 19, 2023, at The Emeralds of Faribault.

Bonnie Mae Nachreiner was born on April 4, 1958, in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Arnold and Ruth Ann (Fleck) Nachreiner. She grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1976. Bonnie had several jobs after high school but moved to Northfield in 1986 and started working at Right-Way Foods, and after they consolidated, continued working for them in Lakeville. She had been working there for 38 years when she retired a couple months ago due to the limitations from cancer.

Bonnie met Gary while living in Northfield and they were married on August 9, 2009. She and Gary were homebodies and loved nothing better than a quiet day together. She was a reserved, quiet person but enjoyed conversations once engaged.

Bonnie could have been called an amateur horticulturist. She knew more about plants and flowers than the average person and definitely had a green thumb. She loved her pets, Rocky and kitties. She spent many of her days crocheting and generously gifted her creations to loved ones.

She was a diligent, trustworthy, and loyal person. Bonnie loved her family, and they loved her. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband, Gary; parents, Arnie & Ruth Ann Nachreiner of Los Fresnos, Texas; siblings, Lori (David) Pherson of St. Peter, Al (Sara) Nachreiner of New Ulm, Russ (Mickey) Nachreiner of St. Peter and Holly Hanson of Eagle Lake; 12 nieces and nephews; and 12 grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie and Nancy; and grandparents, Henry and Florence Fleck and Joseph and Catherine Nachreiner.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home, 1316 Division Street South, Northfield. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and a reception will follow the service. www.northfieldfuneral.com
