Landis F. Forster
NEW ULM — Landis F. Forster, 70, of New Ulm, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH in New Ulm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
Landis is survived by his “niece”, Hope Capp; and many close friends in the Deaf community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and good friends, Erwin and Myra Schaefer, Bill Schaefer, and Cheryl Schugel.
Landis Frank Forster was born on Jan. 1, 1953, in New Ulm to Albert and Marion (Stueber) Forster. He graduated from the Minnesota School for the Deaf in Faribault in 1971. Landis worked as a welder for 30 years in the family business, Forster Welding. He enjoyed diesel motors, swapper meets, blowing snow for the neighbors, and collecting various items. Landis was a member of the Deaf Restaurant Club (DRC).
