Bill, age 62 was born on New Year’s Eve in Shakopee, Minnesota to Joyce and Wally Solomonson. He spent his early years first in Carver, Minnesota and then Arlington. He attended Arlington Green Isle schools and from a young age Bill demonstrated remarkable determination, saving his paper route earnings to achieve his dream of obtaining a pilot’s license. Bill called New Ulm home for over 30 years. His commitment to his goals extended to his professional life as well, where he worked at Cash Wise Foods Grocery Store for many years and was known for his reliability and friendly demeanor.

Bill was an avid sports fan, with a special fondness for the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings. His love for these teams was a testament to his spirited and enthusiastic nature. He enjoyed fishing, movies, music and adventures. He had fond memories of camping on Norway Lake in Pine River and the North Shore in Grand Marais, visiting with family and playing with his cousins. He went on several trips with his sister, Ellen taking in the Grand Canyon, Black Hills and Yellowstone. He also took a trip to Florida with Trish visiting Cape Canaveral to watch a rocket launch, experienced Disney and the ocean!

Despite facing challenges with mental health throughout his life, Bill was known for his kindness and the positive impact he had on those around him. His compassionate nature and warmth made him beloved by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his brother, Doug Solomonson, sisters, Trish (Phil) Raner and Ellen (Randy) Boreen; Nieces and nephews, Chris (Jen) Franke, Tim (Marlee) Solomonson, Aaron (Lexy) Solomonson, Sara (Jon) Raner/Klinger, Paul (Kinley) Raner/Subers, Adam (Megan) Boreen, Matt Boreen, Lindsey (Jake) Annis, Nathan (Sarah) Boreen, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
