DEERWOOD–Darlyne Joyce Ernst, age 81 of Deerwood was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2024, where she will be reunited in grace with her daughter Amy, her parents, Marvin and Fern and her sister Betty.
She was born on March 24, 1943 in Gaylord, MN to Marvin and Fern Franke Sr. She grew up on a farm in the Gaylord area and attended school in Gaylord. After she finished school she worked at Rosenberg’s Nursing Homes and Hands Inc. while cleaning for several people. Her love for the elderly led her to opening an adult foster care in her home called Carver Street Homes Plus. She operated her Business until retiring and moving up north with the love of her life and partner, Cy Wendorff.
She enjoyed many years of retirement doing her sewing and making crafts for craft shows. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family. She especially enjoyed the visits from her brother, Butch and sister-in-law, Phyliss when they would play marbles together.
Darlyne enjoyed visits from family and fishing on the pontoon. She loved watching birds and old westerns on TV when the birds weren’t as active.
Darlyne is survived by her special friend, Cy Wendorff of Deerwood; her daughter, Kristine (Brian) Schwartz of Winthrop, MN; her sons, Steven Ernst of Fargo, ND, and Alan (Tara) Ernst of Gibbon, MN; her grandchildren, Joshua (Suki) Schwartz of Chaska, Rachel (Nick) Meyer of Fairfax, MN, Clarrissa (Jesse) Lutterman of Belle Plaine, MN and Makayla Ernst of Baxter, MN, six great grandchildren and three brothers, Clifford, Jerry and Marvin Jr.; two sisters, Marvel and Beverly; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and friends.
All friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering that will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Warehouse Reception Hall in Winthrop (106 North Carver Street).
