Bridget Jenny Thiessen was born July 17th, 1994 to Darwin and Virginia (Elg) Thiessen in Windom, MN. From elementary all the way into high school she attended Comfrey Public School ISD 81. She got her GED her junior year of high school and then went onto Iowa Lakes for a semester where she was studying Graphic Design. She later attended Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Jackson, MN where she was studying Business Administration.
Bridget was an active member of the Business Professionals of America MN West Jackson chapter, a career and technical organization. She distinguished herself by competing in and winning awards at both State and National Conferences. She designed the state pin for the 2013 conference in Florida. Other conferences she went to were in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Dallas. Additionally, she and her fellow chapter members gained valuable experience and lifelong friendships while working at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, staffing the Turkey and Ice Cream booths.
Bridget over the years had manager jobs at Subway in Jackson, MN and later on at Cooperative Energy in Lakefield, MN. Her most recent career was at Caribou in New Ulm as a Manager on Duty/Barista. No matter what job she had, she always greeted customers with a friendly smile!
Bridget was a creative person. She enjoyed photography and editing pictures. Astrology and crystals were also a passion for her. One thing Bridget was always known for is going to concerts. She would even design and make her own shirts to wear to them. She was usually the first one out of her friend group to know when and where the next Minnesota show was or even the surrounding states. Ranging from Machine Gun Kelly, Mod Sun to $uicideboy$. She loved to arrive at the venues almost 12 hours early most times so she could line trap, make new friends and support whatever artists were in town. She loved to learn the lyrics to her favorite songs! Her soul was full when music was involved. Bridget was always ready to go get Boba from Bober Tea Mankato or some breakfast from Lakes on 1st or a good burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of zippy dip from Rodney’s Tavern. She loved her cat Sir Jeffers and enjoyed spending time with him and taking all the photos of him. She loved to see her niece, Lorelai and play with her as often as she could! She LOVED snuggling on the couch with Andrew watching Jersey Shore together. They would discuss different things they observed in the show like morality of the characters and the decisions they made etc.
Even though our hearts are shattered, we have so many memories and stories to keep her spirit alive. She lived a fun filled life in her short 30 years here with us.
Blessed be those memories. EST for life!
