Darlene is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Doug) Bastian of Winona, Linda Ulrich-Geronime of California; her sons, David Ulrich of Mankato, Bradley Ulrich of Lafayette; her 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gert “Buddy” Ulrich; and her siblings.

Darlene Murial Ulrich was born August 17, 1939, in Kewanee, Illinois to John and Francine (Burns) Bradley. She was raised in foster care which eventually brought her to Wabasso, Minnesota. Darlene was a 1957 graduate from Wabasso High School and a later attended DMLC in New Ulm. She was united in marriage to Gert “Buddy” Ulrich on May 15, 1960, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. This union blessed the couple with two daughters and two sons whom together they raised in New Ulm. Early in her career, Darlene worked at Kraft Foods in New Ulm. She later went to work as a nursing assistant, most recently with the Good Samaritan Society in Lafayette before her retirement in 2013. Darlene always enjoyed working with her hands, and especially enjoyed doing cross stich, needle point, and knitting. She also enjoyed doing house projects she typically initiated her family to start. She was a past member of the First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Darlene will be remembered for her kind, but stubborn ways; for being forgiving, but always strong willed; and for her feisty, but gentle loving heart. May these memories, and the countless others forever stay in the hearts and minds of those who knew her best. Blessed be her memory.
