NEW ULM–Marlice B. Clark, age 92 of New Ulm died peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington where she had moved in 2021 to be close to her daughter.Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will follow in Soldier’s Rest, next to her husband Harry, at New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service. Marlice is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Russell) Kindler of Marysville, Washington; her sons, Larry “LD” (Dagmar) Brey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dan “Butch” (Janet) Brey of Milton, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Corey (April) Groebner, Tom (Cherie) Brey, Carmen (Lynn) Loftis, Patrick (Jackie) Brey, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Rice of Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Clark in 2016; and her daughter, Connie Groebner in 2019.

Marlice Bernice Luckhardt was born May 1, 1932, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Louis and Evelyn (Dydrick) Luckhardt. She was a 1950 graduate of DMLC and furthered her education at the Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm. Marlice was united in marriage to Harry Clark on November 25, 1977, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Besides her work from home as a loving mother and wife, Marlice worked a dedicated 31 years at 3M in New Ulm. Known for her unwavering dedication to others, Marlice spent 13 years as Executive Director of the local food bank in New Ulm providing nourishment and support to those in need. Her kindness extended far beyond her work as a volunteer, as she also offered care and comfort for others in need in their homes. She was a member of the New Ulm Medical Center’s Auxiliary as well as the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Marlice’s generosity and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community. Marlice enjoyed her many travels with her husband, Harry; particularly, their trips to Germany & Alaska. Marlice also enjoyed puzzles, cooking, and church. In her remaining years, Marlice was amazingly strong and resilient to the end. Although she lived a long and wonderful 92 years, she will still be deeply missed by those who knew her best. May her memory forever stay in the hearts and minds of those she touched.
