Glenna Boyle

Glenna Boyle age 96, of Springfield, MN died on January 12, 2025, at The Glenn Minnetonka Assisted Living in Minnetonka, MN.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Springfield, MN with the Rosary being recited at 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Springfield, MN, on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Father Stephen Boyle. Interment will be at St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.

Glenna Teresa Boyle was born on the family farm near Currie, MN, on October 15, 1928, to Philip and Elizabeth Gervais. She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary High School in Currie and from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN. Following college graduation, she taught high school in Milroy and Lynd, MN. On Thanksgiving Day 1951 she married the love of her life, Francis J. Boyle. They lived in Grand Forks, ND, Omaha, NE, Detroit, MI, and Tracy, MN, before settling in Springfield, MN in 1958. Together they raised eight children. She devoted her life to her family and made her house a loving home. She had a special devotion to the rosary and our Blessed Mother. She was an excellent baker and seamstress and especially enjoyed playing cards.

Glenna died in her sleep on January 12, 2025, at the Glenn Minnetonka.

She is survived by her children, Francis (Beth) Boyle of Minneapolis, MN, Philip (Kris) Boyle of St. Cloud, MN, Patrick (Ellen) Boyle of Norfolk, NE, Michael (Becky) Boyle of New Ulm, MN, Anne (Jack) Kennefick of Edina, MN, Fr. Stephen Boyle, O. Praem of Springfield, IL, Jane (Brad) Bechtold of Sauk Rapids, MN, and Jeanne (Jim) Gathje of Bloomington, MN; 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and her sister Betty Connors of Rochester, MN. Glenna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Vincent Gervais, Julie Mulligan, Sister Generose Gervais, Marian Manis, and Hugh Gervais.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Raphael’s School or the Springfield Area Food Shelf.
