NEW ULM­–Yvonne “Vonnie” Meyer, age 88, of New Ulm passed away Monday, January 20th, 2025 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. She is survived by her son, Jeff Meder; sister, Karen (Don) Mosel and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin Meder (10-19-1975); husband, Warren Meyer (10-05-2005) and her sister, Darlene Beckman (09-26-2007)

Yvonne R. Mickelson was born August 4, 1936 in Madelia, MN to Alvin and Henriette (Riopel) Mickelson. Vonnie graduated from Madelia High School in 1954. Vonnie was united in marriage to Alvin Meder on April 22, 1956 in Madelia. After marriage the couple moved to Gibbon where they raised their son Jeff. After her first husband’s death she was united in marriage to Warren Meyer on June 22, 1978 in Gibbon. Vonnie worked for Allina as a Home Health Aide in New Ulm. Vonnie was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed watching game shows on TV but above all else she loved to spend time with her son Jeff. Vonnie was a kind and loving person she will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
