Christine “Chris” Kaye (Brown) Johnson

SPICER–Christine “Chris” Kaye (Brown) Johnson, age 52, of Spicer, MN passed away peacefully on January 23rd after a long battle with cancer with her loving husband, Terry “Skeeter” Johnson Jr. at her side.

Chris was born to William and Mary Brown on November 21st, 1972, in Mankato, MN. Chris grew up in New Ulm and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1991. After high school she went on to graduate from Rasmussen College Mankato Campus with a degree in finance. On February 17th, 2017, Chris was united in marriage to Terry “Skeeter” Johnson Jr. on the beach in the Dominican Republic with family and friends. Chris worked for Willmar Electric, City of Spicer, and Willmar Municipal Utilities. During her time with the City of Spicer, she took great pride and honor in the many events she handled. Through the City of Spicer, Chris got to know the beautification committee members, and enjoyed their friendship. When not working, she enjoyed deer hunting with family, reading, fishing, spending time outdoors, and relaxing ontropical vacations with her husband. Chris’s favorite pastimes were sitting on the beach with family and friends, going on long walks with their chocolate lab, Bella, and attending workout classes with her best friends.

Chris is survived by her Husband Terry “Skeeter” Johnson Jr. of Spicer, Parents William and Mary Brown of New Ulm, Brother Doug Brown of Benson and Sister Kari (John) Schutte of Huffman, Texas, Mother and Father In-Law Terry Sr. and Marjorie Johnson of Spicer, Brother In-Law Trent (Steph) Johnson of Spicer and Sister In-Law Sommer (Tim) Wertish of Redwood Nephews Trey (Sabrina) Johnson, Zen Schutte, and Camden Wertish. Nieces Tyra Johnson, Sarah Spinelli, Victoria Schutte, Tenley Wertish, and Great-Niece Gwyneth Johnson. Chris was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts and uncles.

A visitation and service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. The visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The service will start at 2:30 p.m.–cookies and coffee to follow the service.
