NEW ULM–Betty Ann Ehret, age 86, of New Ulm passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Living Meadows Nursing Home in Madelia.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Grace Community Church in New Ulm. Pastor Phil Schenck will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Grace Community Church in New Ulm.Livestreaming of the memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 on the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home Facebook page. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheri Lynn Ehret of New Ulm; son, Scott Charles Ehret of St. James; five grandchildren, Scott, Jacob, Eric, Misty, and Christopher; four great grandchildren, Isaac, Alexia, Austin, and Chelsey; brother, Brad Stauffer; cousin, Garnet Karau; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Cogdill; son-in-infancy, Roger Ehret; brothers, Lyle and Tom Stauffer.
Betty Ann Stauffer was born June 23, 1938 to Jess and Bernice (Syverson) Stauffer in St. James. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at First Presbyterian Church in St. James. She attended St. James High School and then moved to California from 1956-1992 before moving back to Minnesota. While in California, she worked at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant, Cracker Barrell, and then Tony Downs Foods when she returned to Minnesota. Outside of work, Betty volunteered at the New Ulm Garden Club, New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, and the Treasure Haus for many years. Above all else, Betty loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her.
