Jeanette Elizabeth Bauermeister was born March 21, 1930, in New Ulm to Fred and Elizabeth (Huhn) Bauermeister. Growing up in New Ulm, Jeanette was both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a 1948 graduate from New Ulm High School. Jeanette was united in marriage to Carl Peterson on August 22, 1948, in New Ulm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. This union blessed the couple with a daughter and two sons whom together they raised in New Ulm. After Carl’s passing in 1974, Jeanette was later united in marriage to George Plocher on October 8, 1977 also at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Jeanette worked her entire life from her home as a loving mother, and homemaker. She was the perpetual provider for her family and was known her entire life for her talents in the kitchen. No one went home hungry when you left her house, and many times you even left with a “care package” for the road. In her retirement years, Jeanette enjoyed to travel. She was able to go on cruises in the Caribbean, and made many great memories travelling the east coast with her family. Her faith and her family always came first in her life. She especially loved getting to see her grandson’s and great-grandson’s grow. Jeanette’s kind heart, good natured spirit, and giving and hospitable ways were characteristics she will forever be remembered for. Although Jeanette lived a long and beautiful 94 years on this earth, she will still be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Blessed be her memory.
