Judith “Judy” Ann Holmgren

LAFAYETTE–Judith “Judy” Ann Holmgren, age 78, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Bayside Manor in Gaylord surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with Father Mark Steffl celebrating the mass. Burial will be in the St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in Lafayette. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel in New Ulm. Judy is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Derksen, Christina (Joey) Elbert, Nikki (Kurt Weber) Holmgren, Theresa (Greg) Klement, and Kelly Birkemeyer; sister-in-law, Sharon Brush; grandchildren, Brandon Savoy, Jessica (Jake) Meyer, Jamie (Laura) Lauwagie, Kaitlyn Holmgren, Gabriel Weber, Sophie Klement, Skylar Klement, Sullivan Klement, Autumn Frechette, Ashton (Lilly) Juhnke, and Ava Juhnke; great-grandchildren, Brooks Meyer, Bayler Meyer, and Parker Lauwagie; and many nieces and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vivien “Sunny” Plaisance; brother, Everett “Jack” Brush Jr.; and a son in infancy, Joseph Michael.

Judith Ann Brush was born on December 19, 1946 in Anoka, MN to Everett & Angeline (Galba) Brush Sr. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1964. Judy worked at Dittrich Specialties, Windings, Panasote, Firmenich, and then retired from Kraft Foods. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, sewing, fishing (especially with her Dad), and spending time with her family. Judy especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We know she will always be watching over us as we will be looking up to her as we always have.
