NEW ULM–Long time New Ulm resident Barbara Ann (Barrett) Wilfahrt passed away on April 11, 2025 at the age of 97. She has been buried in the New Ulm City Cemetery in a private family service.

Barbara was born in Luverne, Minnesota to Elnora and Vinal Barrett on July 21, 1927. After completing her college education in Mankato, Barb took a teaching position in Sleepy Eye. Barb moved to New Ulm after marrying Wallace E. Wilfahrt where she dedicated herself to raising her four children.

Barbara is survived by her children Bruce (Priscilla) Wilfahrt, Peggy Kinate, Bradley (Danette) Wilfahrt, Brian Wilfahrt (Vaughn Phillips), 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Many New Ulm residents will remember Barb’s passion for golf which she regularly played at the New Ulm Country Club until the age of 90.
