To the editor:

Congressman Brad Finstad remains on the DOGE caucus in full support of Elon Musk’s illegal dismantling of important services. The firing of Social Security Administration employees further shows that this unelected billionaire and his team of rich kid sycophants don’t care about the 72 million Americans who depend on Social Security payments, funds which they have already paid for throughout a lifetime of working. You might be one of those Americans reading this now.

Musk has never had a real job in his life, and has no place jeopardizing the retirement and well-being of Americans who have. This heir to a deadly emerald mine in South Africa could end world hunger in one fell swoop if he wanted, but instead spends his money buying his way into the US government and cutting the most vital services that we all rely on. And the representative from Minnesota’s 1st Congressional district has been there to support him the entire way.

Finstad’s cowardice to face his constituents in a town hall during congress’ recess proves he’s not interested in representing the needs of southern Minnesotans. He’s already shown that he doesn’t care how Minnesota farmers, the people he pretends to serve, are being harmed by cuts to USAID funds. Instead, he ignores public outcry and sends out emails that reaffirm his unwavering loyalty to a dictator.
