To the editor:

We are writing to express our sincere congratulations to New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC) for being named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the nation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

Recently, Fritz Busch nicely highlighted the reasons for their success, with staff emphasizing teamwork, patient care, and a genuine caring attitude.  We can confirm all of the above with a family medical emergency three years ago.

While this award is an incredible achievement, what’s even more impressive is that this is the 12th time NUMC has received this honor. Only two other hospitals nationwide have achieved this status, which truly speaks to the consistent dedication and excellence of the entire NUMC team.

 Nobody I know wants to see a doctor, but when we have to, we feel truly blessed by a good and gracious God to have such a wonderful medical center nearby in New Ulm.
