New Ulm boys tennis team goes 1-1 at doubles tourney in St. Peter
ST. PETER — The New Ulm boys tennis team went 1-1 at a doubles tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday.
The New Ulm boys beat St. James 3-2 and fell to St. Peter 3-2.
Against St. James, the New Ulm No. 1 doubles team of Ben Brownfield and Maverick Johnson defeated Andrei Rivera and Brennan Kern 7-5, 4-6, 10-8. The New Ulm No. 4 doubles team also won, defeating Dylan Reid and Ryan Meyer 7-6, 6-4. New Ulm’s No. 5 team of Mitchell Schotzko and Gideon Heins defeated Juan Cervantes and Cohen Dankoff 6-0, 6-0.
Against St. Peter, New Ulm’s No. 3 doubles team of Nathaniel Janssen and Leo Waloch defeated Colton Abels and Ezekiel Ribar 1-6, 6-3, 10-4. New Ulm’s No. 5 doubles team of Gideon Heins and Mitchell Schotzko defeated Luke Gilberton and Magnus Soderlund 6-4, 2-6, 12-10.
