Military Appreciation Day to take place this Thursday at Johnson Park
NEW ULM — Thursday, July 11 is “Military Appreciation Day” at Johnson Park when the New Ulm Brewers host the Courtland Cubs at 7:30 p.m. in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
All veterans in attendance will receive a free meal and beverage courtesy of the New Ulm Baseball Association.
Paul Wojahn, 103-year-old veteran, will throw out the first pitch.
The New Ulm Battery will fire a ceremonial salute just after the National Anthem, and the Legion Riders will provide a seventh-inning salute.
The Brewers will wear their military uniform tops, provided by Schell’s Brewery, in the game.
As usual, there is no admission for Brewers games.
Kyle Marti of Schell’s said that he hopes that this can be an annual event.
