NEW ULM — Pipestone Area downed New Ulm 5-2 in a nonconference girls tennis meet on Tuesday.
Karlee Prahl picked up a win over Jasmine Boeke at No. 1 singles for New Ulm, winning 6-2, 6-0, while the New Ulm No. 2 doubles team of Kaylee Evan and Lilly Kral won 2-6, 6-4, 10-2 over Laura Minet and Iva Witter.
New Ulm hosts a meet against St. Peter at 4:30 p.m. and a meet against Mankato West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
PREP VOLLEYBALL
Wabasso 3, Lakeview 0
COTTONWOOD — Wabasso swept Lakeview 25-11, 25-19, 25-20 Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball match.
Alivia Olson led the Rabbits with 11 kills, 11 digs and three aces, while Leah Mathiowetz had seven kills and six digs with two aces. Camryn Irlbeck had seven kills and three aces, while Carly Fenger had eight kills. Sarah Carlson had 39 assists and two aces.
Wabasso travels to Cathedral on Thursday, Sep. 5.

MOUNTAIN LAKE — Madelia swept Mountain Lake Area 25-20, 25-20, 25-22 in a nonconference volleyball game on Tuesday.
Ashlynn Sweet led the Blackhawks with 12 kills, four blocks and two aces, while Makayla Sorenson had five kills, eight digs and a block. Katie Bocock had 11 set assists and three aces, while Payton Bruns had 12 digs and five aces.
Madelia (1-1) hosts Cedar Mountain on Thursday.

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye defeated Loyola 25-17, 25-22, 21-25, 25-13 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference volleyball crossover match Tuesday.
Sam Price led the Indians with 12 kills, eight digs and two aces, while Jaelynn Schauman had six kills and two blocks. Paige Haala added five kills, eight digs and three aces, and Hannah Meyer had 17 set assists, nine digs and two aces.
Sleepy Eye hosts Cedar Mountain on Thursday, Sep. 5.

NICOLLET — Nicollet downed Lester Prairie 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-9 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference volleyball crossover match Tuesday.
Cason Forbrook had 11 kills, seven aces and four blocks for the Raiders, while Leah Bode had 10 kills, 11 digs and seven blocks. Miah Lambrecht had 14 assists, and Kamryn Truebenbach added 14 digs.
Nicollet hosts Alden-Conger on Thursday, Sep. 5.

WINTHROP — Sibley East swept Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 25-20, 25-12, 25-11 Tuesday in a nonconference volleyball game.
Trinity Stearns led the Thunderbirds with eight kills and an ace, while Kora Schwarzrock had four kills and two aces. Natalie Ahlbrecht had nine set assists and a block, while Cheyenne Schmidt had five digs.
GFW plays at Loyola on Tuesday, Sep. 3.

Fairmont 5, New Ulm 4
FAIRMONT — Fairmont defeated New Ulm 5-4 in a Big South Conference girls soccer game on Tuesday.
Olivia Enter had two gals for New Ulm, while Jesalyn Skoglund had a goal and an assist. Grace Barie had a goal, and Yanellie Fernandez had an assist. Ellie Dake had 13 saves in the game.
New Ulm hosts St. James/Windom/Madelia on Thursday.
