SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye got past Red Rock Central 26-24, 19-25, 25-16, 25-23 on Monday night in a nonconference volleyball match.
Sam Price led the Indians in the win with 10 kills, 13 digs and three aces, while Paige Haala had seven kills and Kayla Hecht had six kills. Ava Kunkel had 24 set assists, six digs and three aces also for Sleepy Eye, while Jaelynn Schauman had five kills and eight blocks.
Sleepy Eye is at Wabasso on Tuesday.

WABASSO — Cleveland swept Wabasso 27-25, 25-14, 25-23 on Monday night in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover volleyball match.
Alivia Olson led the Rabbits in defeat with 11 kills and seven digs, while Camryn Irlbeck had seven kills and two block assists and Leah Mathiowetz had six kills and three aces. Also for Wabasso, Audrey Johnson had 16 digs and two aces, Sara Carlson had 28 set assists, Kenley Guetter had one solo block and two block assists and Britta Brand had five digs.
Wabasso (12-3) hosts Sleepy Eye for a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division matchup on Tuesday.
GIRLS TENNIS
New Ulm 6, Worthington 1
WORTHINGTON — New Ulm downed Worthington 6-1 on Monday in a Big South Conference girls tennis meet.
New Ulm swept in singles competition, with Karlee Prahl defeating Hannah McNab at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1, and Joci Pettersen defeating Emma Heitbrink 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Carmen Schotzko defeated Hah Bly Moo 6-3, 6-2, while Natalie Fischer beat Lily Brown 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Worthington’s Sadie Nickel and Chloe Martinez defeated New Ulm’s Aubrey Demarais and Everly Batt 0-6, 6-4, 10-7 at No. 1 doubles for its lone win of the meet. Lilly Kral and Kaylee Evans defeated Mykayla Phouanghet and Ashley Esparza 5-7, 6-2, 10-2 at No. 2 doubles, while Lydia Osborne and Brielle Evans defeated Eleanor Teerink and Tiana Garcia 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 at No. 3 doubles.

Springfield/CM girls take 1st in Windom
WINDOM — The Springfield/Cedar Mountain girls cross-country team took first at a meet in Windom on Monday, while the boys team took third.
The Springfield/CM girls were led by Katie Thram (22:36, third) and Marissa Pabst (22:53, fourth), while Lydia Dauer took fifth (22:57) and Emmie McCone took 10th (23:53). The boys had two runners finish in the top 10, including the boys race winner Matt Groebner (18:32). Dylan Dewitt took ninth also for Springfield/CM (19:28).
St. Mary’s/Sleepy Eye/New Ulm Cathedral also competed at the meet, with the boys team taking fourth. The girls team was incomplete. Leading the SM/SE/NUC boys was Noah Christensen, who took fifth with a time of 18:58.39, while Levi Hagen took eighth (19:17.28). For the SM/SE/NUC girls, Emma Hagen took sixth (23:04.4), while Millie Lax took 21st (26:41.97).
