ST. PAUL — It didn’t take long for Adam Loberger to adjust to college basketball as the freshman was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week (November 4 – November 10) in his first collegiate game at Martin Luther College.

Loberger scored 38 points and grabbed five rebounds in an 83-80 loss to Rockford University on Friday. The forward shot 13-of-29 from the field (44.8 percent), while also knocking down four 3-pointers and went a perfect 8 of 8 from the charity stripe.

Loberger becomes the first MLC men’s basketball player to receive the honor under head coach Greg Holzhueter and the first since Todd Brassow, who achieved the award three times in the 2014-2015 season.

“It’s an honor to be named Player of the Week,” Loberger said about the award. When asked about what helped him prepare for the first game, Loberger added, “Coach Holzhueter preached that playing hard in practice will translate to the game. The competitive practices that we’ve had so far has helped me adjust to the college basketball level this early in the season.”

Starting at $4.38/week.
