WINDOM — New Ulm shut out Windom 14-0 in a nonconference boys hockey game on Friday.

Carson Uecker had a hat track with three goals and three assists for the Eagles, while Hunter Larson had two goals and three assists. Brecken Neuman had two goals and two assists, while Talan Helget had a goal and two assists. Brody Nordby and Melvin Sellner each had a goal and an assist, while Keaton Weston, Jack Griebel and Brody Wenner had a goal. Mason Buegler had two assists, and Ben Alfred and Bodee Schmiesing each had an assist. Jayden Grunst had nine saves in the win.

New Ulm (1-0) hosts Minnesota River on Tuesday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Mary’s 76, WEM 54

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 76-54 in the St. Mary’s Tip Off invitational Friday at St. Mary’s High School.

Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 27 points, five steals, three assists and three rebounds, while Natalie Fischer had 15 points and five steals. Brynne Ibberson had 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Olivia Schieffert had 12 points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists.

St. Mary’s (1-0) plays BOLD in the second day of the tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday.

BOLD 63, Sleepy Eye 40

SLEEPY EYE — BOLD downed Sleepy Eye 63-40 in the St. Mary’s Tip Off invitational Friday at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s High School.

Cadence Okerman led the Indians with 13 points, four assists and three steals, while Paige Haala had 10 points, three rebounds and two blocks.

Sleepy Eye (0-1) plays Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in the second day of the tournament at 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
