NEW ULM — New Ulm’s Mya Hornick scored two goals to lead New Ulm to a 5-3 win over Hutchinson on Tuesday in a nonconference girls hockey game.
Callie Haugen scored the Eagles’ first goal with an assist by Madelyn Olson. Jersey Haugen scored New Ulm’s second goal with assists by Madalyn Olson and Lily Kral. Hornick then scored on a short-handed goal with an assist by Tristyn Wolner. Hornick’s second goal was an unassisted one. Brecklyn Harazin scored unassisted for New Ulm’s fifth goal.
New Ulm had 23 shots on goal. Goaltender Ava Schmid had 29 saves.
New Ulm (2-6, 0-3) will play at Fairmont on Thursday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mankato West 64
MANKATO — Brooklyn Lewis, Leah Brustad, Ramsey Hopp and Betsy Joyce scored in double figures to lead New Ulm past Mankato West 79-64 on Tuesday in a nonconference girls basketball game.
Lewis scored 16 points and had five rebounds. Brustad added 15 points and four rebounds, Hopp had 14 points and five rebounds and Joyce scored 11 points with 12 rebounds.
New Ulm (2-3, 1-1) will travel to Waseca on Friday.
St. Mary’s 84, New Ulm Cathedral 32
NEW ULM — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s cruised past New Ulm Cathedral 84-32 Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division girls basketball game.
Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 30 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals. Natalie Fischer scored 17 points with seven assists and two steals, and Amelia Schwartz added 9 points, six rebounds and three steals. Kiara Murphy scored 9 points with five rebounds.
Shay Wilfahrt and Jayde Altermatt each scored 12 points for the Greyhounds.
St. Mary’s (5-0, 3-0) will plat at Springfield on Friday. Cathedral (0-5, 0-2) will play at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday.

LESTER PRAIRIE — Sleepy Eye defeated Lester Prairie 86-76 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division girls basketball game.
Paige Haala led the Indians’ attack with 32 points, five rebounds and three assists. Cadence Okerman added 16 points, nine rebounds four assists and two blocks, while Taylor Berkner had 16 points and Sam Price scored 8 points with five blocks.
Sleepy Eye (2-4, 1-2) will host St. James Area on Thursday.

WABASSO — Springfield rolled Wabasso 65-32 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Tuesday.
Jada Reese led the Tigers in the game with 24 points and three steals, while Emma Hauger had 20 points, four blocks and four steals. Kendall Krueger added 9 points and four rebounds.
Peyton Jenniges led the Rabbits with 10 points and two assists, while Ava Samyn had 7 points and three rebounds.
Springfield (3-1, 2-0) hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Friday. Wabasso travels to Sleepy Eye on Friday.

Leah Bode lead the Raiders with 21 points while Kamryn Truebenbach and Cheyenne Klockziem each scored 11 points apiece.
Nicollet (3-2, 3-1) will travel to Renville County West on Friday.

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain ran past Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 67-36 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division girls basketball game.
Aubrey Steffl earned a triple-double for the Cougars, totaling 34 points, 10 assists, 10 steals and eight rebounds. Kendra Erickson added 21 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Brooklyn Diehn scored 6 points with three steals.
Kelby Bruns led GFW with 7 points and Trinity Stearns and Kelly Willegal each scored 5 points.

Blake Schueller led the Cougars with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Blake Steffl scored 19 points with 13 assists. Carson Schiller had 17 points and eight rebounds, and Zach Sandgren added 11 points.
