NUA places first at Tom Keating Invite
FOLEY — Wyatt Pollard took first place at 172 in the Tom Keating Wrestling Invitational on Saturday for New Ulm Area, while teammates Kane Johnson took first at 127, Reagan Johnson took first at 107, and Anna Pollard placed first in the 112 girls division, helping NUA to a first-place finish in the invite.
Also for the New Ulm boys, Chase Wilson placed second at 114, Braydon Miller placed third at 114, Jamisen Frederickson placed third at 215, Braxton Kiecker placed third at 145, Lane Ruch placed third at 189, Elijah Rieser placed third at 139, Tegan Kral placed fourth at 133, and Dirk Haynes placed sixth at 160.
For the New Ulm girls, Karli Homer placed third at 124.
Wabasso goes 0-2 at home invite
WABASSO — The Wabasso wrestling team fell 46-23 to Maple River/United South Central and 68-6 to Minneota in a home wrestling invitation on Saturday.
Kaysen Harms was the only wrestler for Wabasso to win both of his matches, winning by fall against Minneota’s Bretten Coequyt and a 7-4 decision over Maple River/USC’s Wyatt Walters.

HOWARD LAKE — Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted downed Sibley East 54-45 Friday in a nonconference boys basketball game.
Quintin DeVlaeminck led the Wolverines with 21 points, six rebounds and two steals, while Riley Bussler had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists. Evan Pautsch added 6 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals.
Sibley East (4-5) travels to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday.
