MORGAN — Cedar Mountain cruised past New Ulm Cathedral on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division boys basketball game.
Blake Scheuller led the Cougars with 23 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks. Zach Sandgren scored 15 points. Blake Steffl had 14 points and eight rebounds. Thomas Dahmes added 10 points.
No statistics were reported for Cathedral.
Cedar Mountain (9-0, 7-0) will host Wabasso (7-4, 4-2) on Friday. Cathedral (4-5, 4-2) will play at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop (3-5, 1-3) on Friday.

HECTOR — Springfield downed Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division boys basketball game.
Bryan Buerkle led the Tigers with 21 points and five rebounds, while Parker Kuehn had 18 points. Isaac Fredin and Madden Lendt each had 12 points, while Brayden Sturm scored 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

SLEEPY EYE — Lester Prairie defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Tuesday in a nonconference boys basketball game.
George Schwint led the Knights with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Kessler Severson had 16 points and five rebounds for the Knights, while Adam Steffensmeier had 12 points, five rebounds and six assists. Mike Balko added 11 points.
SESM (3-7, 0-4) will travel to Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (0-10, 0-6) on Thursday.
Madelia 76, USC 36
WELLS — Madelia rolled by United South Central 76-36 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Tuesday.
Kaydon Firchau led Madelia with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Hayden Jones had 20 points and Josiah DeMaris had 18 points. Kyle Pietsch added 6 points and 12 rebounds for Madelia.
Madelia (10-0) is at Alden-Conger for a conference game Friday night.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
SESM 82, Lester Prairie 57
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s remained perfect with a win over Lester Prairie on Tuesday in a nonconference girls basketball game.
St. Marys’ Morgan Mathiowetz led all scorers with 37 points and 13 rebounds, eight assists and one steal. Olivia Schieffert had 18 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and one steal for the Knights, while Natalie Fischer scored 11 points and had four assists and two steals. Brynne Ibberson added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Addison Hoof led Lester Prairie with 34 points and Anah Lee added 16 points.
SESM (11-0, 7-0) will host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (5-4, 3-2) on Thursday.
Sleepy Eye 81, GFW 42
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye ran past Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Tomahawk Division girls basketball game.
Paige Haala led Sleepy Eye with 20 points, four rebounds and five assists. Kayla Hecht scored 19 points and she had three steals. Taylor Berkner had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Sam Price had 15 points, four rebounds and three blocks. Cadence Okerman scored 7 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Emma Hauger had 14 points, six steals and five assists for the Tigers. Olivia Milbrath added 14 points and eight rebounds. Jada Reese scored 8 points and she had five rebounds, and five steals. Ayla Rothmeier added 6 points and eight rebounds.
Lily Hubin led the Mustangs with 16 points and Elizabeth Ovitt had 10 points.

MADISON — Lac Qui Parle Valley downed Wabasso 59-37 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Monday.
Elizabeth Morin led the Rabbits with 8 points and two steals, while Ava Samyn had 7 points and seven rebounds with three steals. Leah Mathiowetz added 7 points and five rebounds with two steals.
BOYS HOCKEY
New Ulm 3, Mound Westonka 2
MOUND — New Ulm held off Mound Westonka 3-2 on Tuesday night in a nonconference boys hockey game.
Brecken Neuman, Talan Helget and Hunter Larson each had a goal for the Eagles, while Helget, Ian Brudelie and Brody Nordby each had an assist. Jayden Grunst made 16 saves for New Ulm in net and the Eagles outshot Mound Westonka 25-18 in the game.
New Ulm (6-6) hosts Marshall on Thursday night.
GIRLS HOCKEY
Albert Lea 6, New Ulm 1
ALBERT LEA — Albert Lea defeated New Ulm 6-1 on Tuesday night in a nonconference girls hockey game.
Albert Lea outshot New Ulm 47-27 in shots on goal.
Madalynn Olson scored New Ulm’s goal on an assist from Jersey Haugen. New Ulm goalie Ava Brennan had 41 saves in net.
New Ulm (6-10-1) is at Delano/Rockford on Thursday.
