Eagles to host Cancer Awareness Night and DH Friday
NEW ULM — New Ulm High School will host a special Cancer Awareness Night on Friday when the New Ulm Eagles girls and boys basketball teams host Tri-City United for a girls-boys doubleheader.
The girls team will play at 6 p.m., while the boys follow with a 7:30 p.m. scheduled tip-off. In between the girls and boys game, donations will be collected for 52 seconds by the girls varsity team and the boys JV team. The 52 seconds was chosen because every 52 seconds, someone dies from cancer. Half of the proceeds will go to the Allina Health Cancer Institute in New Ulm, while the other half will go to the Children’s Minnesota Hospital.
