GIRLS WRESTLING

REDWOOD FALLS — Elizabeth Dake medaled for New Ulm Area at the Sections 2 and 3 individual girls tournament at Redwood Valley High School on Saturday, placing sixth in the 170 class.

Anna Pollard and Karli Horner each placed eighth for NUA at 112 and 118, respectively.

Also from the area, St. James/Madelia’s Hazly Lopez-Baltazar placed fourth at 100, Wabasso’s Macy Rohlik placed fourth at 130 and Wabasso’s Cassie Bliss placed fourth at 142. Wabasso also had Heidi Foy place fifth at 170 and Camryn Irlbeck placed sixth at 136.

The top two finishers at the section tournament advanced to the state tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Clair 73, MVL 53

NEW ULM — St. Clair defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 73-53 in a South Central Conference girls basketball game on Saturday.

Avery Freier led the Chargers with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Olivia Hammer had 16 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Avery Hahn added 7 points and 12 rebounds.
