ST. JAMES — New Ulm rolled St. James Area 83-57 in a Big South Conference girls basketball game on Thursday.
Brooklyn Lewis led the Eagles with 24 points and six rebounds, while Maddie Backer had 14 points and five rebounds. Ramsey Hopp added 13 points for New Ulm.
New Ulm (16-7) travels to Tri-City United on Saturday.
Sleepy Eye 71, Springfield 59
SPRINGFIELD — Sleepy Eye topped Springfield 71-59 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Thursday.
Paige Haala led the Indians with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Taylor Berkner had 18 points with five 3-pointers and six rebounds. Cadence Okerman had 10 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and three steals, while Jaelynn Schauman had 10 points.
Emma Hauger led the Tigers with 24 points and three assists, while Jada Reese had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Jasmine Novotny added 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Sleepy Eye (18-7, 13-3) hosts Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Monday, while Springfield (13-10, 9-7) travels to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Friday.

SLEEPY EYE — St. Mary’s defeated Martin County West 61-34 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover girls basketball game on Thursday.
Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 25 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists, while Olivia Schieffert had 16 points, four assists and three rebounds.
St. Mary’s (23-2) hosts Mankato Loyola on Monday.
Sibley East 61, GFW 51
ARLINGTON — Sibley East defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 61-51 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Thursday.
Mahrlie Lundgren led the Wolverines with 21 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists, while Kate Arneson had 15 points and three steals.
No statistics were reported for GFW.
Sibley East (10-14) travels to Maple River on Friday, while GFW (4-20) hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector Stewart on Friday.

Springfield 102, Cathedral 49
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield hit the century mark in a 102-49 win over New Ulm Cathedral in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Thursday.
Brecken Heiling led the Tigers with 24 points and five rebounds, while Parker Kuehn added with 21 points and four rebounds. Bryan Buerkle had 18 points and eight rebounds, and Brayden Sturm had 11 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals.
No statistics were reported for Cathedral.
Springfield (22-2, 15-1) hosts Windom Area on Tuesday. Cathedral (9-14, 7-9) travels to Nicollet on Friday.

LAMBERTON — Madelia rolled Red Rock Central 81-51 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Thursday.
Josiah DeMaris led the Blackhawks with 18 points, while Kaydon Firchau and Tate Becker each had 15 points. Hayden Jones and 14 points, while Kyle Pietsch added 12 points.

OKABENA — Cedar Mountain cruised by Heron Lake-Okabena 92-41 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Thursday.
Blake Schueller led the Cougars with 35 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four blocks, while Blake Steffl had 17 points, 18 assists, four rebounds and four steals. Zach Sandgren added 18 points, four rebounds and four assists.

LE SUEUR — Le Sueur-Henderson defeated Sibley East 79-58 in a South Central Conference boys basketball game on Thursday.
Quintin DeVlaeminck led the Wolverines with 22 points, while Evan Pautsch had 16 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Riley Bussler added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

New Ulm takes fifth at section meet
MANKATO — New Ulm placed fifth out of nine teams with a score of 131.675 at the Section 2A prep gymnastics meet on Thursday.
Josie Sellner led the Eagles with an all around score of 33.825, good for 10th place. Sellner placed ninth on floor (9.15) and 10th on vault (33.825).
Sophia Berger placed 16th in all around with a score of 33.1.
