Area roundup: Raiders girls ground Greyhounds

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nicollet 72, Cathedral 44

NICOLLET — Nicollet rolled New Ulm Cathedral 72-44 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover girls basketball game on Friday.

Leah Bode led the Raiders with 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals, while Zoie Rengsdorf had 18 points, six rebounds and four steals. Cheyenne Klockziem added 13 points, six rebounds and four steals.

Jayde Altermatt led the Greyhounds with 16 points, while Olivia Macho had 10 points and Shay Wilfahrt had 8 points.

Nicollet (13-10) hosts Medford on Monday, while Cathedral (6-19) plays at Madelia on Tuesday.

Springfield 56, TMB 52

TRACY — Springfield edged Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 56-52 on Friday night in a nonconference girls basketball game.

Jada Reese led the Tigers in the win with 16 points and five rebounds, while Jasmine Novotny had 14 points and nine rebounds. Emma Hauger added 12 points and three assists, while Kendall Krueger had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Tigers are now 14-11 overall.

The last regular season game for the Tigers is in Springfield in a boys-girls doubleheader with Windom on Tuesday, with the girls playing at 8 p.m. following the boys.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Cedar Mountain 69,

MCW 52

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain topped Martin County West 69-52 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover boys basketball game on Friday.

Blake Schueller led the Cougars with 27 points, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks, while Blake Steffl had 20 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and four steals. Zach Sandgren added 12 points and four rebounds.

Cedar Mountain (20-3) plays Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther at Truman on Tuesday.
