Turner Gymnastics Academy sends teams to Championships

NEW ULM — Turner Gymnastics Academy (TGA) recently sent their four competitive teams to the Albert Lea Gymnastics Club Valentine’s Invitational.

TGA Silver team placed first in their division. TGA White team placed third in their division. TGA Purple team finished second and TGA Black team placed first in their division. Many gymnasts also placed individually in their divisions and age range.

The teams will next head to the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota to compete in the Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association Championships, on Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 2.

Sixteen gymnasts also qualified for individual competition which will take place in Rochester on Sunday, March 2.

For the Junior age group (ages 12-13 years old) Harlow Johnson and Anna Gordon will be competing on vault. Evie Helget will be competing on beam.

For the Child age group (ages 10-11 years) Adaline Schaefer, Hailey Altermatt and Kenlee Wendinger qualified to compete in All-Around (all four events). Charley Nosbush will be competing on vault. Hope Rockvam, Elle Wald and Linnea Gunderson will compete on bars. Gunderson, as well as Ava Lang will be competing on floor.

In the Novice age category (ages 6-9 years) Kya Schwab and Isabella Arndt will be competing in All Around. Ellianna Garza will be competing on Vault. Kodi Kelley will be competing on bars and beam. Nora Bauer will be joining her competing on beam. Garza and Bauer also both qualified to compete on floor.
