Knights hold off BOLD, advance to state
MANKATO – Top-seeded Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Knights survived a back-and-forth Section 2A girls basketball title game with second-seeded BOLD Friday night at Minnesota State University, Mankato, winning 57-54 to advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2021.
The Warriors led 25-23 at halftime, but the Knights got a big and-one late from Morgan Mathiowetz in the final minute to put them in front and they held on for the 3-point win.
