NEW ULM — Joseph Cullen scored two goals and added an assist as Moorhead cruised by Rosemount 6-1 in the championship game of the Minnesota Hockey Bantam AA State Tournament Sunday afternoon at the New Ulm Civic Center.
Moorhead outshot Rosemount 32-21 and in their three tournament wins outscored opponents 15-4.
This was the fourth straight state title for the players in this youth group for Moorhead, having previously won back-to-back PeeWee AA crowns before winning the Bantam AA crown last year.
Gunnar Schock scored first for Moorhead with 8:01 left in the opening period on an assist by Owen Kraft before Cullen scored his first goal of the afternoon unassisted on a power play with 5:45 left in the period.
Cullen scored his second goal on a rebound with 1:40 left in the second off a Henry Buttweiler shot.

Bauer Sullivan scored on a power play with 9:31 left in the game to get Rosemount on the board down 3-1, but Owen Wright got it back moments later on an assist from Gage Kallhoff with 6:37 remaining. With 4:04 left to play, John Gramer scored on an assist from Cullen to make it 5-1 before Buttweiler scored an empty-netter with 2:48 left to play for the final score.
Earlier in the day, Rogers defeated Eden Prairie 2-1 in the third-place game, while Minnetonka downed Farmington 5-0 for the consolation crown.
