SPRINGFIELD — Sleepy Eye rolled Springfield 11-1 in five innings in a Tomahawk Division softball game on Friday.
Taylor Berkner earned the win in the circle, striking out eight and allowing one run on two hits. Eight Sleepy Eye starters earned a hit in the game, led by Callie Evers, who went 3 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kenley Jensen was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Jaelynn Schauman was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored. Brissa Hernandez was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, and Megan Sellner had a double and an RBI. Paige Haala, Jace Schauman and Berkner each earned a hit as well.
Regan Beadell took the loss for Springfield, allowing 11 runs on 15 hits. Jasmine Novotny had a hit and an RBI, and Abby Groebner had a hit.
Sleepy Eye (2-0, 2-0) travels to play Lester Prairie in a doubleheader on Tuesday, while Springfield (0-1, 0-1) plays at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield won both the boys and girls side of a nonconference golf meet on Friday, with the girls scoring a 211 and the boys scoring a 178.
The Tri-City United girls scored a 261, while the boys team was incomplete. Both the boys and girls teams for Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart teams were incomplete.
Braiden Davis led the Springfield boys with a 41, placing second. Tayte Zihlke placed third (44), while Dylan Simonson placed fifth (46). For Springfield girls, Mavri Winkelmann won the meet with a 47, followed by teammates Ava Lipetzky (49) and Kynslee Kastner (50) in second and third.
