REDWOOD FALLS — Sleepy Eye topped Redwood Valley 10-6 in a nonconference softball game on Tuesday.
Taylor Berkner earned the win for Sleepy Eye, striking out seven while allowing six runs on 11 hits and five walks. At the plate, Jaelynn Schauman was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Berkner was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Jace Schauman and Brissa Hernandez each were 2 for 4 with two runs scored, and Paige Haala and Callie Evers each had a double with three RBIs and a run scored.
Sleepy Eye (5-0) hosts Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey on Thursday.

WINTHROP — New Ulm Cathedral rolled Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 22-0 in four innings and 15-0 in four innings in a Tomahawk Division softball doubleheader on Tuesday.
Abbey Hillesheim earned the win for Cathedral in Game 1, striking out three and allowing one hit. At the plate, Jaylin Hartness was 3 for 3 with a double, while Ava Brennan was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Madelyn Haala added two hits with a double and four RBIs.
Ellison Fitzpatrick took the loss for GFW in Game 1, striking out two and allowing 17 hits in four innings. Ashlynn Hubred picked up the lone hit for the Thunderbirds.
Jayde Altermatt earned the win in Game 2, striking out nine in a four-inning no-hitter. At the plate for Cathedral, Ava Schmid was 2 for 3 with a double and a triple with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Altermatt, Brennan, Haala and Hartness each picked up a hit.
Fitzpatrick was the losing pitcher in Game 2, striking out one and allowing seven hits and six walks.

SPRINGFIELD — Lester Prairie swept a Tomahawk Division doubleheader 19-8 in six innings and 8-5 against Springfield on Tuesday.
Jalyn Louwagie took the loss for Springfield in Game 1, striking out two and allowing 13 runs, two earned, on 11 hits in five innings pitched. At the plate for the Tigers, Emma Hauger was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Makayla Winkelmann was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Jasmine Novotny and Abby Groebner each had a hit and an RBI in the game.
Regan Beadell took the loss in Game 2, striking out eight while allowing eight runs, six earned, on eight hits in six innings. At the plate, Hauger was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Winkelmann and Faye Williams was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Aylah Jenniges earned the win for Wabasso, striking out 10 while allowing two runs on seven hits in 10 innings. At the plate, Macy Rohlik and Sara Carlson each had two hits and an RBI, while Kayleigha Johnson was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Alivia Olson was 1 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Peyton Jenniges was 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.

MOUNTAIN LAKE — Mountain Lake Area downed Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 13-2 in five innings in a nonconference softball game on Tuesday.
Natalie Zarn took the loss for St. Mary’s, striking out five while allowing 12 hits. At the plate, Eva Schweiss was 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, while Taylor Mathiowetz had a hit and an RBI. Josie Helget and Reese Hoffmann each had a hit.

LE SUEUR — The Le Sueur-Henderson boys and girls golf teams hosted Minnesota Valley Lutheran and New Ulm on Tuesday at the Le Sueur Country Club, winning both sides of the meet.
The boys medalist was LSH’s Nathan Tews, who shot a 39. New Ulm’s top scorer was Brayden Wendinger, who shot a 42, while Mason Buegler and Jaxon Buegler each shot a 45 and Colton Anderson carded a 47. MVL was led by James Osterman, who shot a 44, while Cooper Pavelchik and Nathaniel Lukasek each shot a 47. Philip Lukasek shot a 47 to round out the MVL boys’ top scorers.
The girls medalist was LSH’s Allison Cink. New Ulm’s top girls were Rory Gieseke (63), Lydia Osborne (63) and Brogan Thordson (64). MVL’s top girls were Emma Beussman (61), Carmella Joshi (65) and Scarlet Heldt (65).

BUFFALO LAKE — The Springfield boys golf team placed second out of three teams in a boys golf meet on Tuesday.
Tri-City United won the meet with a score of 184, followed by Springfield (187) and Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (228).
Dylan Simonson led the Tigers in the meet, tying for first with a score of 43. Erik Davis placed fourth with a 46, and Braiden Davis tied for fifth with a 48. Tayte Zihlke took eighth (50), and Grant Kuehn placed 10th (52).

PLATO — Springfield swept Lester Prairie in a Tomahawk Division baseball doubleheader on Tuesday, defeating the Bulldogs 10-0 in five innings and 9-2.
Noah Neperman earned the shutout win in Game 1, striking out five and allowing one hit in five innings. At the plate, Jackson Ludewig was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, while Kade Nachreiner was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Adiel Trevino was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Leo Hovland had a hit and an RBI.
Noah Mueller was the winning pitcher for Springfield in Game 2, striking out three while allowing two runs on three hits in 4 2/3 innings. Nachreiner pitched the remaining 2 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing one hit. At the plate for the Tigers, Trevino was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Neperman and Ludewig each had two hits. Ely Streich, Kadyn Anderson and Brayden Trapp each had a hit and an RBI.

Cody Schultz earned the win for Sleepy Eye, striking out 10 while allowing four runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. At the plate, Kaden Klein was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Schultz was 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Chase Zufall and Chino Luna each added two hits for Sleepy Eye, with Luna adding an RBI and a run scored.
Sleepy Eye (4-2) hosts New Ulm Cathedral on Monday.

LAMBERTON — Red Rock Centra/Westbrook-Walnut Grove edged by Wabasso 4-3 in nine innings in a nonconferece baseball game on Tuesday.
Calvin Hanna took the loss for Wabasso, striking out three while allowing one run on five hits in 3 1/3 innings. Zach Skoblik made the start, striking out 3 while allowing three runs on four hits. At the plate for Wabasso, Mason Warner had two hits and two RBIs, while Hudson Jenniges had two hits and three stolen bases. Jack Burns added a double and an RBI, while Finn Batalden had a triple and an RBI.
Wabasso (1-4) travels to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday.

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s topped Cleveland 8-5 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference crossover baseball game.
Landry Folken was 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Knights, while Wyatt Pollard was 2 for 3 and Talan Helget was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Brandon Braulick had a double and two RBIs also for the Knights. Merrick Mathiowetz pitched five innings in the win, allowing three hits and six walks for three earned runs while striking out five. Kessler Severson got the two-inning save, allowing just one hit while fanning five.
St. Mary’s (2-2) is at Lester Prairie on Monday.

WELLS — Despite scoring four runs in the seventh to make things interesting Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop fell to United South Central 9-6 on Tuesday in a nonconference baseball game.
The Thunderbirds were led by Luke Bastian, who was 2 for 2 with an RBI, two walks and two runs scored, while Kaden Rieke was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Cole Kemkes was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Rieke took the loss in 4 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits for four earned runs while striking out two.
GFW (1-6) hosts Wabasso on Monday.
