SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye stayed undefeated with a 6-0 win over Mountain Lake Area Thursday in a nonconfernce softball game.

Taylor Berkner was the winning pitcher for Sleepy Eye, striking out 16 and allowing no runs on three hits. At the plate, Callie Evers was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Berkner was 2 for 3 with one RBI.

Sleepy Eye scored one run in the fourth inning, with a sacrifice fly by Nora Coulson scoring Berkner. Sleepy Eye broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring five runs with hits from Evers and Berkner helping to cement the lead.

Sleepy Eye (6-0) plays at Cathedral on Monday.
